Walking In North Devon

North Devon boasts an outstanding stretch of the coastal path on which you will encounter a spectacular variety of scenery - rolling hills, secluded coves, dramatic cliffs, and picturesque villages including unique Clovelly. This beautiful stretch of coastline changes with the seasons from bluebells in the spring to the heather of autumn.

West Pusehill Farm is an ideal base for walking, being situated in superb walking country in one of the most beautiful areas England has to offer.

We provide written, easy to follow guides and all of our trails are circular, ranging from 2 to 11+ miles. Many of the walks start from our doorstep & you'll encounter a variety of scenery, ranging from leafy, country lanes & open fields to dramatic coastline.

Within easy reach are both Exmoor & Dartmoor -- wonderful walking areas - each having its own varied scenery. Wooded river valleys, heather covered hills & spectacular cliffs describe Exmoor whilst in contrast Dartmoor offers windswept tors, vast areas of beautiful unenclosed moorland with a wealth of archaeological remains. Both moors are rich in wildlife each having it's own unique breed of pony.

The Tarka Trail, over 180 miles in length takes a looping route through North and Mid Devon. From the rugged Atlantic Coast, the Estuaries of the Two Rivers of Tarka the Otter fame, the Rivers Taw and Torridge, through rural Devon Countryside onto the Northern Slopes of Dartmoor. The Trail between Barnstaple, down the Taw, upriver to Bideford, follows the Torridge to Torrington, and takes the route of a disused railway line. This route is particularly suited for both cyclists and walkers. Along the North Devon Coast, following the South West Coast Path, the trail takes in Baggy Point, Mortehoe and Lynmouth, before rising up Contisbury Hill to Exmoor's Lorna Doone Country .

West Pusehill Farm can cater for individual or large parties and has the advantage of variety, discovery & achievement with none of the hassle of having to move on to different accommodation each night. Whatever your fitness or level of experience we have walks to suit you.
